In Polka their high school football team is called the "Dots".  There is a little town driving distance from here called Torch.  A friend of mine some time back talked me into going with her to the Torch Mall.  Imagine my surprise when the Torch Mall turns out to be an old fashioned post office and general store, full of fabric and craft type stuff.  Very tiny.  Fun but she could have let me know what kind of "mall" we were going to.

I would have LOVED that!  In Whitewood, the only store/gas station was a bit of a general store, too.  Not much in the way of crafty stuff, but almost everything you would need.
Up until a few years ago, we had a place called the "Whoopee Bowl"...it was a huge place that was sort of like a scrapyard, flea market and dollar store all rolled into one.  Found lots of treasures at that place.

We do have an old store across the river in Marietta Ohio, called Rinks that was closed down years ago and is now used as an indoor flea market.  Now they call it Rinky Dinks.  Boy is that place fun, but I haven't gone in years because it is only open on the weekend, and my oldest can't handle the crowds.  He has gotten better in the last few months, and I take him all sorts of places, maybe now is the time to try again.  It is so run down that you just wonder when it will finally crumble to the ground.
